The shirt she bought had the size of a full grown young man. Obviously the shirt was way to big for him, but that was just the point.
She wants to see her little boy grow up to the big guy he will be one day. So every year she comes to my studio for a photo session with her son. And every year we shoot one picture of Djaydenn with his shirt on. And every year we are amazed by the development he's gone trough. He grows way to fast. You see hem changing in every picture, the first year we could only see his toes, now we can even see his knees! He really isn't a toddler anymore, he's a real big boy now. Next year we probably think exactly the same as we did last Saturday... Childhood goes by so fast....
Nice to mention is the fact that the shirt he's wearing stays in de closet for the entire year. No one is allowed to take it out of it during the year. That way we are surprised that one moment a year in my photostudio.

Gisteren had ik het er al over. Dé jaarfoto van Djaydenn. Afgelopen zaterdag maakte ik de 5e editie van deze foto in het jaar waarin hij 6 wordt.
Dit idee is zo simpel en zo leuk, dat ik het graag met jullie wil delen.
De moeder van Djaydenn kocht een typisch tijdloos herenoverhemd voor haar zoon in een maat die hij waarschijnlijk zal passen wanneer hij 18 is.
Het overhemd hangt het hele jaar in de kast en wordt tussentijds nooit gepakt of gepast. Ieder jaar is het tijdens de fotosessie dus weer een verrassing om te zien hoe hij valt en ieder jaar zitten wij met onze mond wagenwijd open te kijken naar hoe dit ventje gegroeid is. Het is zo vertederend om te zien hoe hij steeds meer in dit hemd aan het groeien is. Met zijn bijna 6 jaar past dit shirt natuurlijk nog lang niet, maar dat is juist de grap. We gaan proberen dit zo lang mogelijk vol te houden, hopelijk tot zijn 18e, maar 16 is ook al een heel mooi streven, vind ik.
Een vast accessoire bij deze fotosessie is een kopje koffie en/of de telefoon van mama. Het kopje is tijdloos, de telefoon uiteraard niet. Over 10 jaar lachen we waarschijnlijk om deze hopeloos ouderwetse telefoons... wie zal het zeggen.
Dus een tip aan alle papa's en mama's, wil je ook zo'n fantastische serie van je kind. Verzin ook iets wat tijdloos is en wat je jaarlijks makkelijk kunt laten terug keren. Het is zo leuk om te doen.
